Franklin Electronic Publishers to Launch EFL Spelling Competition in China

(Amex: FEP), a world leader in handheld electronic spelling and dictionary products, and Beijing 100e Science and Technology Ltd, the largest online English learning platform in China, today jointly announced that the preliminary rounds of Franklin's SpellEvent, the first and only worldwide English spelling competition for young English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students, will be held in China in 2009, with an internet round to be sponsored by Beijing 100e. Inc., the largest online English learning platform in China, has been selected by Franklin as the only online sponsor of the preliminary rounds in China. Franklin SpellEvent is for students fifteen years old and under who are learning English in selected countries outside of the United States. Next spring preliminary rounds in up to eight initial participating countries, including China, will be conducted to determine the participants for the final round of the tournament scheduled to be held in August 2009 in New York City.
